Möhkö ironworks’ rich history in Finland’s easternmost village is full of fascinating stories. Our permanent exhibitions tell about the ironworks, war history and the times of logging and the transportation of logs by floating them along rivers. The landscape of Möhkö is full of history which will be illustrated by our guides. A guided tour of the ironworks introduces you to an office clerk, Sutinen, and allows you to contemplate Möhkö village’s eventful war history. The tour also goes through the log cabin life of the beginning of the last century. The blast furnaces radiate heat, countless Russian soldiers hide in their war time shelters in the forest and the log transporters stroll along Koitajoki River.
